Employment Law for Businesses

Katharine qualified as an employment lawyer in 2009. She provides clear, helpful, advice to businesses on all of their Employment Law and Human Resources needs.

Katharine is also highly experienced in advising on “softer” ways to manage difficult employment related situations, such as what to say at awkward staff meetings. She is an advocate of finding helpful “non-legal” solutions to resolve employment issues wherever possible, before resorting to legal measures. Where legal measures are unavoidable, she will provide clear, tactical and sensibly priced advice on how to approach the situation. Katharine aims to head off potential legal conflicts as early as possible, with a view to ultimately saving employers time and money, enabling them to focus on the many other aspects of their business.

Katharine has a particular focus on:

  • advising companies on the employment status of individuals that provide services to or work for them

  • advising start-ups on initial terms for their directors, consultants and employees and discussing any wider business needs, such as shareholder agreements.

  • setting up and supporting HR functions for businesses of any size

  • advising on recruiting and exiting staff at all levels

  • advising on the procedural and tactical aspects of all employee relations issues (e.g. disciplinaries, poor performance, redundancy etc).
